Tablescapes: Where Design Meets Celebration

on

Tablescapes…because design isn’t confined to square footage!

From blueprints to tablescapes…There comes a moment in every project usually somewhere between final paint touch-ups and chasing down a backordered light fixture when I remember… I don’t only design homes. As an interior designer and general contractor, my days are often filled with floor plans, elevations, budgets, timelines, and the occasional “surprise” behind a wall that no one asked for. It’s a world of denim, dust, and decision-making. And while I love every inch of it sometimes creativity asks for a different kind of canvas.

Enter: the tablescape…

Every now and then, I trade in my jeans for a dress, my tape measure for linen napkins, and my job site playlist for the soft clink of glasses at a beautifully set table. Designing tabletops, parties, events, and business functions is my version of a creative exhale it’s where structure meets spontaneity, and where I get to play in a slightly more whimsical, wonderfully polished way.

Because here’s the thing: design doesn’t stop at the walls.

What I love about this…the mixed chintz patterns

A well-designed table tells a story just as much as a home does. It sets the tone, creates an experience, and invites people to feel something the moment they sit down. It’s layering textures, playing with scale, mixing materials, and adding just the right amount of “wow” without trying too hard. It’s design just dressed up for the evening. Because sometimes design fits perfectly on a tabletop.

I always use neutrals…but at Easter I let the chintz come out and play.

And if I’m being honest… there’s something incredibly satisfying about a project that doesn’t involve drywall dust.

What I love about this…classic black bows and tall modern champagne glasses…timeless and elegant

When I design a space, I’m thinking long-term how it lives, how it functions, how it evolves. But when I design a table or an event? It’s fleeting. It’s a moment. It’s about impact, beauty, and creating an atmosphere that people remember long after the candles burn out.

It’s also where I get to stretch creatively in a different way playing with details that might feel too bold or too delicate for everyday living. A little more sparkle, a little more drama, a little more fun.

And yes… I won’t pretend I don’t enjoy the wardrobe change.

So whether I’m knee-deep in construction plans or styling a candlelit dinner, the heart of it is the same: creating spaces big or small that feel intentional, elevated, and just a little bit magical.

What I love about this…everyone gets their own personal wine carafe

Because great design isn’t confined to square footage.

Sometimes… it fits perfectly on a tabletop.

Lets design your tabletop!
