Another Christmas gone as we start 2025 and this one was fast! To be fair we were a week short between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This Christmas season was simple and hectic now that we are a 2 coast family I stop everything when my family comes into town which this year was the end of summer and before Thanksgiving. I have learned that you can’t always celebrate the holidays in the traditional way but believe me we have the best non traditional holiday celebrations! Also timing is everything for Disneyland, shipping baked goods and arranging schedules.
Hope you had a great holiday season and are looking forward to 2025!!
This post is late to the party, you know how crazy the holidays can get! Its still New Years week so technically I can squeeze it in. I found this cute pop up with a collaboration of vendors showcasing their vintage rustic treasures. I was expecting a little pop up I’d be in and out of in 15 min and when I walked in I couldn’t believe how big it was and how it was overflowing with so many things that caught my eye i didn’t know where to start!
This is how you add character to your home!
There were products available in all price ranges, creative displays, candle making demonstrations and unique one-of-a-kind pieces. I browsed around for over an hour walking into each section over and over finding things each time that I hadn’t seen the time before! The vibe was so fun and festive and everyone was buzzing around talking about what they had just found hoping to secure it before someone else did! If you like rustic, vintage, organic finds you’re going to want to follow these vendors for exciting finds for 2025!

Everyone needs at least one vintage rustic piece in their home!
I know you’ve seen my posts featuring my mini bud vases and wood box centerpiece, so I thought I’d show you another fun way to display your flowers using the same 2 items!
Start with any wooden box or long container. It can be finished or unfinished. I love wood so I get unfinished when I can so I have the option to keeping it natural or paining it a color.
You can keep it natural or paint it black or white or stain it with wood stain. I do different ones for different holidays and occasions.
This is a photo of a box before I painted it and how I line up my mini vases. You can use any shape vases as long as they fit.
Here you can see the painted black box and I choose sunflowers, hydrangeas, eucalyptus and seeded eucalyptus to fill the vases. I also added a few little white pumpkins to give it a Fall vibe! To get this different look I made sure one of my filler flowers was one that would droop down and cover the spaces between the vases creating the illusion that it is one long centerpiece and not a long box with a bunch of vases lined up.
The little pumpkins add character and theme, you could use pinecones, acorns, or any other embellishments to add a little extra.
These are great to put anywhere or give as a gift! Get creative and make it part of a vignette.
So there’s a fun quick and easy project to bring nature indoors!
Feel free to send me your photos, I can’t wait to see what ideas you have!

This is a quick and easy centerpiece idea and perfect for anyplace in your home and for any occasion! A centerpiece can be last minute and this is the perfect one to throw together! I keep a long wood box, bud vases, mini string light strand, and candles on hand and just change it up! I also sell the base centerpiece which includes 6 clear varied shaped bud vases and black stained box for $59. Then you just add your own candles, flowers or creative pops! Holiday centerpieces are easy because there are so many seasonal things to use.
It costs next to nothing, and can transform into anything for every holiday and occasion!
I stained a black wood box and filled it with moss and flameless, remote candles.
Then I added a few spooky skeleton heads I had to add detail. Use your imagination to add whatever you want!
I wanted to add purple lights but havent gotten them yet, so I added orange for now
This is the unfinished box I stained and I also keep little bud vases on hand to use the rest of the year in the same box which you can stain/paint any color but I like the black year round.
My box before I stained it black
TURN YOUR CENTERPIECE INTO A VIGNETTE BY MAKING A COHESIVE ARRANGEMENT
You can use your centerpiece by itself on a table or surface or make a vignette by adding more to the perimeter around it.
I added a little grey moss to the ivory gauzelike spider web
The “welcome foolish mortals” sign is from Amazon and they also had some with yard stakes at the “At Home store”. I had to have it because I love the haunted mansion!
It’s August so lets get busy! This is my first 2024 tablescape! My creative self waits all year for this. Yes, I started July 5th, it’s almost like my alarm goes off automatically and all the holiday and seasonal ideas just come pouring out and I start planning! For those of you that think it’s too soon, I have already gone after a few things that are sold out so I’m waiting and hoping for more to arrive!
Layered lighting brings in a whole new dimension
If you like to try new things the key is not breaking the bank when the holidays roll around and choosing a few new favorite things! I love DIY and you have to dig deep in your creative mind when you put together what you already have thinking of new ways to use it. Plus, its fun to use the same items and put a new twist on them! I don’t want to overspend on holiday décor every year! I use my little black lanterns from Hobby Lobby all year round and even had them on my Christmas tree last year! Hobby lobby hoiday decor is the best, except they don’t sell Halloween decor.
The only thing I bought this year was the moss, the candles and another skeleton

Without lighting it has a whole different look!
I ALWAYS TRY TO BUY THINGS I CAN USE YEAR-ROUND AND THEN JUST BUY POPS OF HOLIDAY FUN TO ADD TO GET THE THEME GOING. THE KEY IS IN THE DETAILS.
Little details add a lot to a theme and aren’t expensive
.
This year, I found the cutest, inexpensive candlesticks on Amazon that are so perfect for Halloween, but the best part is they are also perfect for year-round decor! When I first opened them, I thought they were going back but then I put them together and they have become my absolute favorite! I added some flameless ivory candles I also found on Amazon for instant spooky!
Amazon candles and candlesticks
For some reason for Halloween 2024 I am into the droopy mossy look. I usually don’t like any faux florals, but I like neutrals, so it is perfect to add some texture and haunted ambiance. I discovered grey at Michaels which is the perfect creepy color to pop the black and it comes in picks or garland and its 40% off! Its not a soft moss its flexible.
I love the grey color with a pop of black or by itself, both from Michael’s and come in picks or garland. I got both.
I always opt for more muted, off colors and not the traditional white! My spider web was white last year but this year it’s crème and I love it! I found it on sale at JoAnne’s, I also found another unique garland and I’m waiting for it to be back in stock so stay tuned I think they will be fun!
I love the combination of the web and the hanging moss
I love this first Halloween tablescape, using things I already had and adding my newfound moss and candles, I will be posting more soon and watch for my reel on Instagram! I LOVE SHARING MY GREAT FINDS SO IF YOU HAVE ANY FUN TABLESCAPE IDEAS LET ME KNOW!
I just love that someone came up with this name, must have been someone that loves the holidays and all the fun decor, recipes and DIY projects that comes with it. Someone that wanted to name that awkward time when 4th of July is over and you want to start on Halloween and Fall even when its still 100 degrees out! I call it the 5th of July club but basically its the same thing. If this is you, lets be friends!!
I found this cute pic while I was browsing for ideas…..it says it all!
Halloween is becoming so popular and I love 4th of July but as soon as its over I go straight into Halloween and Fall mode so now I can call it Summerween and its actually a thing!
I THINK ITS FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE DONE WITH THE HEAT AND READY TO MOVE ON TO COOLER WEATHER!
Cute as Summerween is I still go straight for the full Fall and Halloween decor, in fact I just grabbed some white pumpkins and Fall fabric today!

Hi Striped Barn Friends! My Fourth of July post is a little late because we were so busy planning a big Fourth of July party! It got a little crazy getting everything ready but we made it through and it was fabulous! I don’t have many pics because once everyone started arriving it was crazy, busy and fun with lots of friends and family and the next thing I knew the fireworks started so I’m still waiting for all the pics to roll in!
I wanted to get this post up and make sure I acknowledge the 4th of July before I move on and jump into my all time favorite time of the year so I apologize that its short! I will be writing another post right after this one because I am already gearing up for Halloween!!
