As an interior designer, fashion designer and product designer for over 2 decades, I have come to love, and appreciate all styles of house.  Not just their unique style, but the story behind what they are made of and the items that have somehow made their way inside.  My favorite are Farmhouses, Ranch Houses, Mountain Cabins and Country Homes in the mountains or at the shore. The walls, the barn, a light fixture, wood beams, doors, a kitchen. I always loved to mix old with new, rustic with contemporary, modern with vintage and rustic with shine. This eclectic mix soon became my signature style which I incorporate into my home, product and fashion designs. 

Don’t get me wrong, I do love new things, but remember new without old creates cold. When you add rustic texture it instantly creates warmth, character and feels like home.

I hope you like my style and visit us often…. whether it’s shimmering rhinestones on an old wood frame, cowboy boots with a ruffled dress or a crystal chandelier hanging over an old rustic table, for me it tells a story. Thanks for stopping by, from a country girl at heart….

I am big on details and presentation! I can sell a product on E bay and still wrap it in tissue and add a bow. When someone cares enough to purchase an item from me, I believe they deserve the same respect when receiving the item as they gave me by purchasing the item.

I love it when I have actually designed or created the item, and even though it feels like saying goodbye to old friend, I am so excited to hand it off to someone that loves it as much as I do! So when you receive something from “The Striped Barn” know that it was either ordered, packaged, designed or created with excitement, thought and love!!

What a fun photo shoot today! Of course its always great to hang out with good friends and horses!  There’s so much inspiration and happiness at the stables I always come away with so much more than pics! Here I am talking to “Grand” between shots. He is my friends newest addition to the family and he is definitely grand and beautiful! Where do you get your inspiration?

My favorite time of year and so much excitement!!

I’m usually ahead of the rush considering I put my tree up on Halloween night! Yes, I may be a little early but it gives me more time for all the fun and our family enjoys seeing all the Christmas decorations at Thanksgiving its so festive! We only have a few months to enjoy it all so I say enjoy it as long as you can before we have to pack it all up for another year! I am working on my Christmas list ideas and decided I would share a few!
