TRANSITION FROM WINTER TO SPRING

Somehow while I’ve been busy working on projects and dodging all the rain, Spring has sprung! I think I’ve been working way too much and just need to breathe some open air! Spring makes me want to jump in a jeep, take off down a dirt road and find a rustic lake house!

So now that we are hitting April, I’m all about summer houses and lake houses and spring cleaning. I still love all the same rustic homes I love in Fall and Winter, but when its Spring and summer they take on a whole new vibe…. Somehow, they are just more open, lighter and brighter.  A lot of it is how we decorate and how we entertain in the warmer months. The blankets go away and outcome the bathing suits and shorts!

Since I have the designer gene, I always want to change everything over to Spring and Summer for a few months and then bring back Fall when it comes back around. Obviously, you don’t change wood or paint every time it changes seasons so if you love your dark wood just lighten up the accessories for summer! It’s a known fact I am a cold weather girl, so I don’t change a whole lot around because I love all my things…but I do have a few decorative things I change around. Skis get traded for oars and I have a few cute things I throw around like maybe a wreath or wood sign that scream “It’s Summer” … I do love all the flowers, so I go full summer with those, and I always love to change out my table décor year-round. I keep my faux fur pillows out all year…just my big faux fur throws get put away. I like to store as little as possible! So, for me, just plants, and pops of color is the easiest way to keep up with the seasons!

Holiday décor is another topic, but I love pops of any holiday, no matter what the season is!!

How much decor do you change out for the seasons? Accessories? Linens? Plants? Pillows?
